Origano Osteria
About This Spot
Arriving at Origano Osteria feels like stepping into a quiet celebration of Apulian life, where the gentle hum of vineyard breezes and the warm glow of rustic charm invite you to slow down and savor each moment. Nestled among rolling rows of vines on the outskirts of Palmariggi, the restaurant unfolds with an open-air garden that offers a peaceful reprieve, where conversation and laughter linger as naturally as the scent of fresh herbs in the air.
The pace here is unhurried, coaxing guests to fully immerse themselves in the gentle rhythms of authentic Italian dining. The atmosphere is intimate but unpretentious, marked by genuine kindness—from attentive local hosts to the careful craftsmanship evident in every detail. It’s a place that encourages discovery, not only through the flavors on your plate but through the stories woven between sips of well-chosen wines and the glance of sun-dappled vines beyond the terrace.
Meals unfold as thoughtful journeys: dishes that honor local ingredients feel both familiar and surprising, blending rustic tradition with unexpected flourishes. The interplay between fresh, earthy vegetables, the delicate char of grilled seafood, and the rich comfort of handmade pastas is complemented perfectly by the attentive pairing of organic wines, each bottle telling its own story of the region’s soil and sun. Desserts arrive as gentle surprises—a balance of sweetness and texture that lingers alongside the warmth of good company.
Origano Osteria isn’t just about the food or the wine—it’s a human moment set against the backdrop of one of Italy’s most beloved landscapes. Whether seated beneath a canopy of stars or warmed by the late afternoon sun filtering through olive trees, guests are encouraged to pause, connect, and appreciate the unspoken magic that happens when place, passion, and people come together.

Starting from the spacious garden where we had our dinner, the attention to detail from the personnel was exceptional. Each plate of the 6-course menu, made with fresh and local products, was beautifully presented and paired with bottles of rosé wine. The presentation of the food was meticulous, and the restaurant even offered some appetizers and sweets. I highly recommend this place for special celebrations and romantic dinners

Simply superb! A wonderful way to experience the very best of Apulian cuisine. Worked my way through a 6 course chefs tasting menu, with matched regional wine for €75pp. The wine pours were generous and they readily topped up your glass if you wanted more, coffee, sparkling water and bread all included. Even if your order off the menu the paired wine is included with your dish. Truly a place to experience local food and wine together. A huge shout out to the highly accomodating staff who will help with any allergy or intolerance.

Beautiful setting amongst the vines, wonderful friendly and warm service, lovely food and really sublime wines - especially the organic primitivo. It was so great we had to go back the following night to try more wines. What a mesmerizing place. Big shout-out to Davide who explained all the wonderful wines and took great care of us. Thank you!

I had the pleasure of visiting Origano Cibo e Vino as part of an Ormina small group tour, and it was nothing short of excellent. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped by a feeling of being part of Italy’s culture—the decor exudes old-world Italian charm that instantly sets the tone for a great meal. The food was simply delicious, offering authentic flavours that felt thoughtfully crafted. From the rich pasta to the perfectly prepared mains, each dish was a testament to the quality of ingredients and the care in preparation. The service was equally delightful, with a staff that made you feel welcomed and at ease. They brought a level of warmth that enhanced the entire dining experience. Origano Cibo e Vino isn’t just a meal, it’s a cultural experience. A great day out for anyone looking to savour the true essence of Italian hospitality and cuisine.

This stands out as one of our favorite meals of our lives. We found the restaurant by accident, while staying at a quaint palazzo-converted-to-hotel down the street. All the workers kept recommending that we try the restaurant. We were turned away the first visit, which was odd because they didn’t appear busy, but the hosts booked us a reservation for the following night. And we are so glad that they did. We chose the tasting menu + wine tasting. Every course was more magical than the last, and every wine more delicious than the last. The ambience was serene…in a rock garden under an olive orchard. Since we were in Lecce, the English language is quite rare, but the friendly servers knew just enough in order to help us with our broken Italian. The night culminated with an olive oil dessert that we still dream about. I’m shocked this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star yet. It’s easily one of our favorite restaurants in the world.

Terrific - great food, best meal so far in Puglia. We went on a quiet tuesday afternoon, and we especially loved the antipasti. The flavour combinations are simple and true to the region, but complex at the same time. The wines paired well and were priced very reasonably. If you have the opportunity to visit, please do. (Also, best sourdoughfoccacia we ever had!)

Ristorante Origano is a restaurant located in the town of Minervino di Lecce in Italy. The restaurant serves a variety of local dishes including pasta and meat dishes. They also have a selection of local wines and desserts. I really appreciated the quality of the food is up to the level. I thoroughly enjoyed the careful wine pairings with the dishes. each course was accompanied by a glass of locally produced wine. I noticed and appreciated the great attention in the choice of raw materials, the egg for example was one of the dishes I liked the most, served with sponsale and roasted yellow tomato. the eggs were km0, from local hens. Even the rabbit souse, with which they prepared the ragù for the first course, was cooked with locally produced animals. We ate an amazing Pasta Mafalda with meat souse and dry tomatoes. The service is friendly and the atmosphere very cozy. It is worth the bread was outstanding. Dessert is great The pastry chef's apple pie was delicate, original, sweet and surprisingly good.
